NOMINEES TO POSITIONS OF COUNTY SECRETARY, CECM AND CHIEF OFFICERS

TODAY, November 30 2022: The Speaker during this morning sitting has communicated to the House of a letter from the Governor, Prof. Hillary Barchok. The Governor in the letter forwarded the following names of nominees to various positions for vetting and approval by the County Assembly.

CHIEF OFFICER

  • Mr. Eric Cheruiyot Langat            -      Devolution and Special Programmes
  • Mr. Paul Mutai Kipkemoi              -      Trade, Energy, Tourism, Investment and Industry
  • Mr. Solomon Kimetto Kiprotich    -       Water, Sanitation, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change
  • Dr. Kibet Sitienei                          -       Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries
  • Mr. Erick Chepkwony                   -       Cooperative Services
  • Ms. Pauline Korir Chemutai         -       Gender, Culture and Social Services
  • Dr. John Keter Kiprotich               -       Education, Vocational Training

The Speaker committed the names of the nominees to the positions of County Secretary and CEC Member to the Committee on Appointments and those of the nominees to the Chief Officer positions committed to the respective Sectoral Committees. 

Meanwhile, in the same sitting, a Notice of Motion was given by Hon. Dancel Kirui to petition the National Assembly to intervene and ensure that County Wards Equitable Development Fund be incorporated in the proposed Constitutional Amendment Bill by Hon. Stephen Mule, MP and Hon. Gichumu Githinji, MP that is before the National Assembly.
