HON.-DENNIS-BUSIENEI---MCA-CHEMAGEL-WARD-1 YOUTH AND SPORTS: MEMBER CALLS FOR ACTIVE ROLE BY THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT

NOVEMBER 22, 2022: Chemagel Ward MCA, Hon. Dennis Busienei has in the afternoon sitting called on the County Government through the department of Sports to play an active role in sporting tournaments and talent development.

Pointing out the Annual Cross-country Championship that was recently organised by the Athletics Kenya (AK) in Sotik, the Member raised concern over the failure of the County Government to arrange similar events and its inability to publicise the event.

The Member said that the county is endowed with plenty of talented youth, mentioning Edwin Bett who was the winner during the AK meeting this year.

Meanwhile, two committee reports were tabled during the sitting. The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Leonard Rotich tabled the Appointment's Committee report on the vetting of the nominees to the Selection Panel for the recruitment of County Secretary.

Similarly, Rongena/Manaret MCA, Hon. Rosaline Cheptoo who chairs the Committe on Energy, Environment, Water and Natural Resources tabled the report on the vetting of the nominees to the Climate Change Steering Committee.
