The County Assembly Committee on Lands, Housing and Urban Planning, chaired by Hon. Dennis Busienei (MCA, Chemagel Ward), yesterday conducted a vetting exercise for two candidates nominated as members of the County Rural and Urban Affordable Housing Committee. Mrs. Grace Rop was nominated for the Chairperson position, and Mr. Josephat Ngetich, was nominated as a member of the Committee. The two candidates were interviewed on their skills and suitability in championing the bottom-up economic transformation agenda through the provision of affordable housing for all.
During the interviews, Mrs. Rop highlighted her extensive experience, having worked as an Assistant Director in the Department of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, where she played a key role in overseeing the construction of Sotik, Chebunyo and Mulot markets in partnership with the National Government.
Both candidates emphasized their commitment to delivering on their roles, ensuring that residents benefit from the social and affordable housing project. They pledged to work closely with the County Government to ensure that the project aligns with the needs and aspirations of the community. The committee will now prepare a report for tabling before the Assembly.
