A delegation from Kenya Judiciary headed by Bomet High Court Presiding Judge Justice Julius Kipkosgei Ngar'ngar'visited the County Assembly.
During the visit, the delegation met with Assembly leadership, including Speaker Honourable Cosmas Kipngetich Korir and the Assembly Clerk Mr. Isaac Kitur, to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
The discussions focused on engaging locally elected leaders in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) efforts, particularly in resolving land succession issues. The judiciary emphasized the importance of sensitizing residents to resolve disputes at the community level to help reduce the courts' case backlogs.
The Assembly leadership also proposed establishing law courts in the Konoin, Bomet East, and Chepalungu sub-counties and introducing mobile courts to improve access to justice.
Bomet County is in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Bomet. The county has a population of 730,129 and an area of 1,997.9 km²
